De Rossi staying put despite United interest

Manchester United have been dealt another blow in the transfer market after Roma manager Rudi Garcia claimed Danielle De Rossi will not be leaving the club.

The Italian international, 30, is understood to have become a target for United with a £10million bid being lined up.

However, Garcia told reporters, “He (De Rossi) will stay here for the whole season and this is something that satisfies me a lot.”

New Old Trafford boss David Moyes is still looking to secure his first signing before Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline with a central midfielder his main priority. He has already been left frustrated after having bids rejected for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas and Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.

Moyes is now believed to be considering Athletico Bilbao’s Ander Herrera although the Spaniard’s £30.75million release clause could delay any potential deal.
