Could You Become a Bodyguard?

If you are looking for a change in career and to get out from behind the desk, one of the options you may not have considered yet is security. There are many different roles and positions that come under the private security umbrella and the job can be rewarding if you put the hard work in.

Many of those working in the security industry have previously served in the police or military. Their training and experience provide the perfect background, skills and experience for the private security industry. However, even if you don’t have a services background, you can still undergo courses and training to start your new career in security; after all, security will always be in high demand!

A Varied Job Role with Plenty of Opportunities

When people think of security work, they naturally think of security guards at warehouses, supermarkets and retail outlets. However, there is much more to this type of career than this if you only look a bit deeper. Depending on the type of security company and the job role you want to get into, you may find yourself working for someone who is looking at bodyguards for hire or you may enjoy the thrill of providing security at high profile events.

If you watch the news, you will often see VIPs, dignitaries, and celebrities surrounded by security (or not if they’re doing their job right) – this could be something you could do if you have enough passion and dedication. Whenever there are large public or political events, even small corporate and private affairs like a company executive’s daily travel, there is always a need for super tight security, this is something you may find yourself doing if you decide to become a bodyguard. Often you will find yourself travelling to new countries and cities in advance of your boss to conduct reconnaissance and liaison.

Another thing to remember is that there is plenty of room for career progression in this job role. If you already have experience in the armed forces or police, as mentioned earlier, you may be able to take on higher-profile jobs right away, which naturally pay better. However, if you are new to the game, you will have to start from the bottom and prove yourself, whilst continuing to train and learn. As you improve and become more knowledgeable about security, you will then progress to more high-profile jobs.

Beautiful Bodyguards

Beauty and bodyguard are not words you often see together, but the beauty of being a bodyguard vs security guard is travel. You could literally end up working anywhere, so you have the chance to travel and explore the world whilst getting paid handsomely. In addition, you could end up working with some very well-known people including sports stars, movie and TV stars, singers, politicians, and even royalty. Of course, you need to be 100% focused and keep your mind on the job, but you certainly won’t be stuck in a dead-end desk job.

There is plenty of information online for those who are interested in becoming a bodyguard and there are also various courses that you can take to give yourself a better chance of securing employment once passed and licensed. Whatever you choose, good luck!
