Champions League. Round 4. Round up. 6/11/12

It was a night that Manchester City fans will rather forget as they saw their hopes of progress out of the Champions League group stages diminish further as they could only draw with Ajax at the Etihad Stadium.

The Manchester side headed into the game knowing that only a win would be enough but 2 early goals, both from corners scored by the captain Siem De Jong, from Ajax saw their hopes fade fast. They were however able to pull 2 goals back through Yaya Toure, who showed superb strength and technique for his goal and then through Sergio Aguero.
The other English team playing last night, Arsenal, didn’t have a much better nights, throwing away a 2 goal lead against German side Schalke. First half goals from the superb Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud were cancelled out by a goal on the stroke of half time from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and a second half goal from Jefferson Farfan.
Hopes of progression from their respective groups are hanging in the balance, Arsenal fans will however be more confident of progress as Manchester City still have to play Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, who played out an excellent 2-2 draw in Madrid.

AC Milan 1 – 1 Malaga
