Brook Targets Big Names for 2014

Kell Brook has fired a warning to some of the biggest names in Boxing after defeating Ukrainian, Vyacheslav Senchenko, in impressive fashion at the weekend.

The Sheffield fighter put on an exciting display in front of his hometown fans at the Motorpoint Arena as he knocked Senchenko out inside four rounds. Brook dominated with his accurate jab throughout the fight and it wasn’t long before he got through to Ricky Hatton’s conquerer, knocking him down in the third round.

Senchenko made it to the fourth round and put ‘The Special One’ in a spot of bother when he backed him up against the ropes with a straight right hand to the temple. Clearly hurt, Brook showed his experience from his tough test against Carson Jones in their first fight in 2012 and managed to not only ride the storm but come through it by landing a thunderous right hand to finish the Ukrainian off, giving the referee no choice but to stop the fight.

Winning this fight cemented Brook’s position as the mandatory challenger for Devon Alexander’s IBF title, however, the Sheffield welterweight hinted he could be tempted to move in a different direction.

Asked about Amir Khan, Brook said: “I want the fight, the fans want the fight and it would be huge in Britain.”

Eddie Hearn, Brook’s promoter, also confirmed they are looking into a big money title fight with Floyd Mayweather’s protégé, Adrien Broner, who currently holds the WBA version of the welterweight title.
