Broadchurch Wins Big at Last Nights BAFTAs.

ITV drama Broadchurch was the big winner at this years BAFTA television awards.

The crime thriller bagged three awards in total; best drama, best supporting actor for David Bradley and best actress Olivia Colman. This marks Colman’s third BAFTA win in two years, and she gave an emotional, tearful acceptance speech.

Best actor was won by Sean Harris for his role in Southcliffe, and supporting actress went to Sarah Lancashire for Last TAngo in Halifax,

The International award went to Breaking Bad, with star Aaron Paul collecting the award, but it lost out to Doctor Who‘s 50th anniversary special ‘The Day of The Doctor’ in the Radio Times Audience Award.

Channel 4’s The IT Crowd won two comedy performance prizes, with awards going to stars Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson, while Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway scooped two entertainment trophies.

The channel also picked up an award for Gogglebox, while Coronation Street won the award for best Soap and Continuing Drama.

Harry Potter actress Julie Walters collected the BAFTA fellowship.
