Arsenal lose out again as Gustavo joins Wolfsburg

Arsenal’s cautious attitude towards using their chequebook has seen them lose out on yet another transfer target this summer as Champions League winning defensive midfielder, Luis Gustavo, has joined Wolfsburg.

The Brazilian international completed a €15m switch moments ago and signed a five-year-deal with the Bundesliga side who finished 11th in their domestic league last season.

The move is rumoured to be motivated by Gustavo’s desire to secure a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad as the arrivals of Mario Goetze and Thiago Alcantara have seen the Brazilian’s place in the Bayern squad thrown into jeopardy.

This move is yet another blow to Arsenal in this summer’s window as they’ve consistently seen top transfer targets slip through their fingers and with the league kicking off in just over 24 hours there may well be a few worried minds in the Arsenal camp right now.
