I Divide have released their début album, ‘Last One Standing’ today. The Exeter rockers are hoping to make an impact on the scene as the most British breakthrough act of 2014. With this album, they stand a very strong chance of doing that…
With the band being relatively young, this album is surprisingly mature for them. The mix of anthemic riffs and emotional maturity from such young artists is something to be admired. It comes at the end of a very busy period from the band after winning the Red Bull Bedroom Jam in 2013 to playing some of the major festivals in the Uk such as Download and Reading & Leeds.
The opening track, ‘Follow Me‘ is a very melodic song. It bares resemblance to the work of other British bands such as Mallory Knox or Memphis May Fire. The strong drum beat mixed with powerful guitar riffs creates for a strong opening from the British rockers.
Tom Kavanaghs vocals mix very well with this of Rebecca Need-Menear, front woman of fellow British rock band Anavae, on the track ‘27 Down‘. Another song flying the flag for British music.
