Inspired by the relationships we build over the course of our lives and our ties with other people, I Wear Your Weight With Mine offers an exquisite fusion of sounds, combining folk with a contemporary songwriting maturity. Opening with the traditional sweeping melodies and emotion-strewn lyricism of ‘Beachcomber’, the album continues to charm throughout.
From the catchy, uptempo hooks and anthemic splendour of ‘The Boy and The Telephone’ and ‘Song’, to the soaring harmonies and cinematic, brooding emotion of ‘Rose’ and ‘Alarm’, each track tugs at the heartstrings with a rousing, delicate grace.
As the gritty, raw passion of ‘Detachment Souvenir’ draws you into its dark energy, songs such as ‘Sermons’ and ‘Everywhere You Belong’ flow with traditional soaring strings and an engaging lyrical storytelling that’ll captivate on first listen.
Finally, the rousing ‘Wolves’ oozes a stirring emotion alongside resplendent, twinkling melodies; an entrancing lullaby to close the collection.
