Act of the Day – Battle Lines

Battle Lines are a four piece from Leeds who play ‘Dark Cerebral Pop’.

About: Having just made their UK Festival Debut at Reading and Leeds I highly doubt Battle Lines are going anywhere soon. The quartet, led by Carly Humphries’ astounding vocals certainly are aware of their sound; their own description of their music as ‘dark, cerebral pop’ could not be more accurate. When the melodies in Colonies begin to soar, you realise why they’re called Battle Lines – they’re most definitely powerful. Packed full of angst and frustration in equal measure with ecstasy and joy. All these emotions come together to form a truly unique brand of raw, bruised, alt-pop.

Reminds Me Of: The Naked and Famous, Wolf Alice, Charli XCX

Music: The single ‘Colonies’ is out now.
