It’s been well over a decade since we saw the birth of one of the most popular UK pop-rock groups of the 2000’s – Busted. This month, we’re welcoming them back to the UK & Ireland with open arms!
There’s two kinds of people around my age – those who grew up jamming out to Busted songs, and liars. Busted had a little something for everyone, and whether you want to admit it or not – you definitely found at least one of their songs insanely catchy, perhaps to the point of owning a CD of their self-titled debut album.
With their upcoming UK tour just around the corner, we’re counting down 5 reasons we’re dying to see the boys take to the stage one more time.
5: Nostalgia.
Come on, it’s Busted. We all dabbled in a bit of bedroom karaoke when it came to some of their hits; ‘Air Hostess’, ‘Crashed The Wedding’ or maybe the somewhat suggestive ‘What I Go To School For’. No matter which song (or songs) you may have fallen for, there’s no doubt you knew every single word for it.
4: They’ve been up to some interesting stuff since we last saw them.
While James has been busy with the McBusted tours, the other two have had a tough time staying quiet. Who can forget when Matt won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 10 years ago? Yes, it’s been a decade. Meanwhile, Charlie has been working with post-hardcore band Fightstar, and more recently has launched a pretty successful solo career. What will all this bring to the table when the three lads come together this month? It also marks the first time in over 10 years that Charlie will join James and Matt on the stage again.
3: It’s not McBusted.
Alright, so you might be a huge McFly fan – or at least equally a fan of them as you are Busted. However, there are many die-hard Busted fans who never strayed in to McFly’s territory. The upcoming UK tour is, as far as we know, strictly a Busted showcase. What does this mean? No more ‘5 Colours In Her Hair‘ getting in the way of the Busted tracks you’re dying to see on a live stage.
2: COBUS!
If you haven’t heard, the awesome Cobus Potgieter will be taking his place behind the drum kit for each stop of Busted’s UK tour. Cobus is a phenomenal drummer who gained massive popularity from his stunning covers uploaded to YouTube. Who doesn’t want to see this dude shred the kit live?!
1: Year 3000.
Some of you are reading this and still, somehow, haven’t been convinced that the upcoming Busted tour is going to tear the roof off a venue in your city. Well, when all else fails – pull out ‘Year 3000′. This is a timeless tune, so much so that it’s still being played in clubs all over the UK and beyond. Well, imagine hearing ‘Year 3000’ in a packed out arena, performed by the band’s authors with a level of energy that fans have grown to love them for? Have a listen below to refresh your memory.
There you have it! 5 reasons we can’t wait to see Busted later this month. Did we leave anything vital out? Tweet us or comment below with your opinion!
