Visionary singer-songwriter, poet, and healer Rosina Buck transcends with the release of her ethereal new single WITCH, out now.
Written in a moment of deep introspection, WITCH holds an otherworldly power that took Rosina on a transformative journey. This song captures the raw energy of the witches’ love, wisdom, and sacrifice, as well as Rosina’s courage to explore the collective edges. Produced by Annie Gardiner,WITCH was created by organically crafting soundscapes that transcend the clean confines of the studio, choosing to allow the spirit of the track to unfurl organically within the textures of everyday spaces. The unique mix, which includes everything from ASMR elements to raw recordings on Zoom, phone, and cassette, builds a textured sonic world that resonates with depth, inviting listeners to feel rather than simply listen.
Set against the raw beauty of nature, the video evokes a dreamscape where time folds in on itself, where past, present, and future converge. Rosina elaborates, “this film is a tapestry of feminine power, woven with truth, reverence, and mystery. It is a celebration of all ages, all bodies, all stories – women standing in their fullness, stripped of expectation, moving as one with the earth beneath them. WITCH is not just a song or a music video – it is a spirit, ritual, an offering, an uprising of beauty and truth. A reminder that magic is not a myth. It is alive, breathing, waiting for us to remember.”
Rosina has performed at acclaimed festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Shambala, as well as gracing the stages of legendary venues such as Ronnie Scots and St Pancras Old Church. She has also previously received praise from the likes of Bristol24/7, Songwriting Magazine and CLOUT to name a few.
This release marks a powerful chapter in Rosina Buck’s musical evolution, offering a hauntingly beautiful and emotionally raw experience for all who listen. Catch Rosina live next at her single launch party on 29th March 2025 at Bristol Folk House – Tickets
Curator Amie Nowlan (Cut Film) expands, “In my signature style I began sifting through archival footage, I came across clips of Vietnamese women during the war. One scene stood out – female soldiers standing at attention, eyes fixed straight ahead. There was something profoundly striking about their presence, a quiet strength that felt both unshakable and deeply human. I knew I wanted to capture that same energy within WITCH, weaving it into the film’s visual language. From the start, we envisioned bringing together women from all walks of life and meeting in nature. We wanted to embody resilience, connection, and a sense of the sacred.
Michael Sides – behind the camera – did an incredible job of making each woman feel at ease, allowing their individuality to shine while forming part of a greater whole and as the footage came together, the narrative revealed itself through a tapestry of feminine power, unity, and reverence for the earth. Once we had all the pieces it slowly started assembling itself together, paving a bond between these women’s strength and connection to the nature around them”.
