Scottish singer songwriter Charlie Davidson has announced himself to the world with his dynamic debut single HeartStop.
Charlie’s love of writing and creating lush, sparkling pop songs was born from an early age. Honing his craft over the years, Charlie began to develop skills in production. What began as basic experimentation using a PC and sound recorder, expanded into full-scale production
Having previously released music, gaining airplay on BBC Introducing Scotland as well as earning recognition as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, Charlie is eager to share his sweet, shimmering brand of pop music.
HeartStop is the first of what should be a succession of tracks Charlie has up his sleeve. Taking influence from a range of artists past and present, Charlie’s sound falls on the classic sound of pop music. Upbeat, energetic and pulsating, HeartStop builds throughout offering synth-like samples, memorable melodies and a catchy chorus. The ability to create impactful pop music has clearly had an effect on some of the industry’s movers and shakers with Charlie recently signing a publishing deal with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy’s Steelworks Songs company.
While Charlie’s music is snappy and energetic, the vocal can be lost in the mix and not as powerful or eye-catching as the music itself. Nevertheless, HeartStop is a great opening effort from a performer who’s sound will only grow stronger with each release.
