Santos accept bids from Barcelona and Real Madrid for wonder-kid, Neymar

News has broke in the last few hours that the battle for Neymar’s signature may soon be over as Santos have accepted two bids for the services of the 21-year-old Brazilian.

A statement released via the club’s twitter feed read:

“In the face of the offers and the player’s contract, the management committee of the club decided to sell the player”

The two bidders haven’t been confirmed by Santos themselves but Spanish football expert Guillem Balague revealed also on his twitter feed that the two bidders were Spanish giants, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Rumours have been flying around over the future of the Brazilian ever since he burst onto the scene over two years ago but sources close to the Brazilian say he’d prefer a switch to the Catalan club rather than Real Madrid.

The switch is likely to cost the Catalans up to £40m but with David Villa likely on the way out and the likes of Alexis Sanchez not performing to the level the club had anticipated, Neymar could solve a lot of problems for the new Spanish Champions.
