There are songs where within the first four seconds, you just know it’s going to be good.
“At Night”, the collaborative effort between Chicago singer Khallee of R&B group “Jody” and producer Kyle Woods is that song. It makes you want to get up and move, all the while maintaining the sexiness that only Khallee can deliver. Khallee describes the beginning to his creative process saying, “I was feeling like we needed to make something funky and elegant, but also relatable”. The song incomparably walks that fine line, bringing sultry tones to the forefront with poise and grace. Kyle concludes, “We wanted to write a song that we could put on at a party and would get all our friends groovin”. Just like that, this duo joined forces and captured the essence of the Chicago summer scene after the sun goes down. Just like the night, by the time the song ends, it’s over too soon.
