Single Review: XY&O – ‘Shades Of You’

Starting out as a bedroom project at uni, Welsh trio XY&O have received great popularity on Spotify for their debut EP Shimmer + Shade, and have now shared infectious new single ‘Shades Of You’.

Flowing with whirring, synth-driven hooks and the soaring vocals of Skip Curtis, ‘Shades Of You’ combines its profound lyrical content with a sweeping, glitchy soundscape. Oozing a twinkling grace and instantly catchy charm, it’s sure to provide the perfect accompaniment to any summer dancefloor.

Currently fulfilling a residency of free shows at Cardiff’s The Big Top, with their unique blend of soothing R&B and uptempo electro-pop, XY&O look set to take 2018 by the horns as Wales’ next big thing.

‘Shades Of You’ is out now via Electric MVM.
