Single Review: Megan Airlie – ‘After River’

Scottish singer-songwriter Megan Airlie has just released her stunning new single ‘After River’.

Filled with twinkling, finger-picked melodies and Airlie’s rich, sweeping vocals, ‘After River’ tackles the issue of poignant issue of mental health. Of the track, Megan explains: “It concerns mental health… It was birthed from one of the hardest times of my life and was the first song I had written in a year. I had been in hospital, arrested and dumped and I thought to myself what best to do other than sing?”.

Oozing a soaring, soulful power and folk-infused musicality, ‘After River’ will send shivers down the spine on first listen as it exudes its captivating, raw emotion. A simply majestic creation, it showcases Megan Airlie’s ability to write songs that will capture your heart and bring a tear to your eye.
