Single Review: Laura Elvin – ‘Wonder’

Born into a family of classical music lovers, Shoreditch-based artist and producer Laura Elvin combines an eclectic range of influences to create her unique, bewitching sounds.

Certainly an artist who likes to step away from the ‘norm’ and conquer a challenge, Elvin’s latest single ‘Wonder’ is performed purely on a custom-built music box. As its off-kilter, twinkling sounds flow alongside Elvin’s soaring, operatic vocals, a beguiling sense of grandeur is created, as a haunting power encompasses your ears.

With a vocal tone reminiscent of the unsettling falsetto of Kate Bush, Elvin has created a truly original and eerily captivating, shimmering sonic delight. So, brace yourselves for the utterly majestic sounds of ‘Wonder’.

‘Wonder’ is out on 15th September.
