Renowned fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta, died on Monday at the age of 82 after losing his battle with cancer.

The designer – known for whimsical, romantic, feminine gowns that frequent Hollywood’s red carpets – passed away at his home in Kent, Connecticut. The Dominican Republic-born fashion icon, who recently designed Amal Alamuddin’s gown for her wedding to actor George Clooney, dressed a plethora of famous women with his elegant pieces – ranging from A-list actresses to American first ladies to fashionistas.

De la Renta’s friends, fans and style peers took to social media to offer condolences and memories in remembrance of one of the fashion world’s leading men.
