Bristol’s rising alt-rock quartet Indecision deliver a bold statement with their upcoming EP ‘Vol. 1‘, out now. Known locally for turning every gig into an adrenaline-shot of noise and emotion, the band’s recorded output finally catches up with their live reputation here.
‘Vol. 1‘ leans into dreamy guitars and hazy vocals, warped by sudden surges of gritty riffs and drilling textures. It’s a record defined by contrasts – beauty laced with unease – and that friction becomes its driving force. Across its tracklist, Indecision pull listeners into a journey of volatile emotion: anger and obsession collide with moments of tenderness, reflection and even peace. These aren’t songs designed to sit comfortably in the background; they demand to be experienced up close.
Frontman Ben Parsons has been candid about this duality, describing the EP as “beautiful and unsettling at the same time.” That ambition rings true – there’s a tension here that mirrors the disorientation of modern life, and the band lean into it with conviction.
Parsons, alongside bandmates Joel (guitar), Boo (bass) and Jacob (drums/vocals), have long been a fixture on Bristol’s live circuit and their momentum is now stretching further afield. With support from BBC Introducing’s James Threlfall and recent support slots for DAIISTAR and Sterling Press, the band’s trajectory seems primed for a breakout.
If ‘Vol. 1‘ captures anything, it’s the raw, restless promise of a band stepping firmly into their sound.
